Macy's Mountain Climb
My family and I have a dog that we adore, but she's just not tough. And without snow where we live, it's almost impossible to think that she is fierce. But this game jam gave me the perfect opportunity to envision our dog as FIERCE (ok maybe not THAT much).

love it
So much about a top-tier platformer is about how it FEELS to control the character. While Macy's controls feel pretty spongy (for my taste) I have to say I'm pretty impressed this works as well as it does, especially considering the time-frame! Great job!
Nice work! I agree with some others who said that the tutorial was too hard, though I would like to add, that as someone who is partially sighted, the text for the tutorial was hard to read due to its low contrast with the background, though I understand that accessibility is not a priority during game jams. I love the music, it really fits the feel of the game. The art is also great. Amazing job overall! 15/16!
Thank you so much! When I had started making the game, I thought that I would make it kind of hard, and it turned out to be a bad move. I realized that the fun in the game was in the jumping / parkour, so I made a bad choice of making the tutorial very hard compared to the rest of the game. The rest of the game is not that hard. So at least I learned something from making this game.
I have to agree with another commenter, the first level was a bit of a challenge to land just right, but afterwards, I breezed through the game. Pretty decent if I might add.
Yeah :( I made the tutorial level kind of as a test level to know that I could build more levels quickly in the jam. Later, I found that the fun in the game is the big jumps and parkour. Since I was making levels past the tutorial level, I never really thought that I would have to change anything about it. But the next time I make game, I'll try to make sure to keep the difficulty curve the best I can.
I only tried the web version, but the gamepad controls seem to work fine (Logitech F310 gamepad anyway), since you said you couldn't test it.
Oh nice! I wonder what it feels like to play the game on a gamepad...
great game, hard at first but when you get used to the movement it is very satisfying
also, the music was good enough to try to get my brother to play on our piano.
Yeah, I spent a LOT of time getting the movement just right. Also, my sister will be happy that you like the music (she made it0
Fun little platformer! Nice job!
Thank you!
